They continue watching her, until they notice she's heading straight towards Nebbercracker's house. Unfortunately, the house awakens and almost eats her, but DJ and Chowder intervene, and Zee steps outside to tell Chowder that his dad is on the phone looking for him, causing the house to go dormant again. DJ and Chowder see her going to Nebbercracker's house, and they rush out to warn her, managing to catch her before she is eaten by the house. Against his friends' protests, DJ tries to talk some sense with Nebbercracker about the truth behind his wrathful and suspicious behavior. Nebbercracker was at first angry after he has discovered the truth, but eventually relents and tells them their story. Later, Chowder's Dad called DJ as he was worried about him since he wasn't home when his parents got back.

They, much like other people, do not appear to believe the boys at all, but are simply doing their job to make sure they don't get hurt. Mr. Nebbercracker hates kids and confiscates everything that lands on his lawn, telling people to stay off it and from his house due to his knowledge that the house is sapient. Beneath that rotten surface, however, there lies a sad man with justifiable reasons as to why he would behave horribly grumpy. All spoilers are unmarked. DJ was brave enough to think of a plan to destroy the house before it caused severe damage to the neighbourhood and kill a ton of children on the night of Halloween. The three realize that no one is going to believe their experience with the house and decided to keep it to themselves.

Friends / Allies

When DJ and Jenny reach the crane's arm, DJ was very scared to do it, Jenny tells him that he can and kisses him, giving him the confidence to do so. The trio sees Nebbercracker having the final touch with Constance's spirit before she fades away. The house breaks free from the foundation, with trees to support it (the arms), and chases the group to a nearby construction site. During the climax, as Constance tries to eat Nebbercracker, Chowder fights the house off with an excavator, causing it to fall into a pit. They make a plan to find the heart and put out the fire while Chowder asks if there are more options.

As DJ and Chowder argue about their ideas, and that Chowder risked his life for DJ for stealing drugs for him and DJ says that it was Chowder's idea to make DJ retrieve Chowder's ball back and DJ then hastily heads for home. As he does, he nearly gets run over by an ambulance hijacked by Nebbercracker, and the trio is surprised to see he arrives home alive, but with his arm in a sling. The trio consults supernatural expert Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, who speculates the house must be a rare type of monster created by the fusion of a human's spirit and a man-made object that can only be unbound when its heart is struck. Ascertaining that the presumably-deceased Nebbercracker is the cause, the trio construct a dummy filled with cough syrup Chowder stole from a pharmacy owned by his father.

Jenny Bennett

The trio then sees a dog starting to pee on the Monster House's lawn, the house then grabs the dog with its tongue and pulls it inside just like a frog does. Overhearing this, Constance becomes enraged, uses two trees to lift the house from its foundation, and chases her husband and the children. Nebbercracker tries to comfort Constance and explain everything is for the best, but when she realizes his intent to destroy her with some dynamite, she attacks him. Chowder combats Constance with an excavator from a nearby construction site, into which the trio then lure her. Swings out on a crane's hook with the dynamite, dropping it into the house's chimney and vanquishing Constance. Finally freed, her spirit briefly reunites with Nebbercracker before ascending to the afterlife; he thanks the trio for freeing them from their suffering.

Chowder's Parents

But, his victory is short-lived; while Chowder is jumping for joy, Constance rebuilds the house in a more terrifying form, much to his dismay. As DJ and Jenny climb to the top of a crane so they can throw a stick of dynamite down the chimney, Chowder resumes fighting the house. Unfortunately, the house gains the upper hand and eats the excavator before directing its attention towards Chowder again.

Which DJ agrees; wait and do nothing until the house finds out where they are and it will eat them, Chowder disagreed with that idea and goes on with the plan to find the heart and put the fire out. Jenny then shows DJ a set of photos with Nebbercracker and his late wife, then DJ says to Jenny that Nebbercracker used to have a wife, but he fattened her up and ate her, much to Jenny's disgust. That night, DJ has a nightmare where the house's shadow prepares to grab him and he wakes up when he receives phone calls from Mr. Nebbercracker's house with no-one on the other end. DJ eavesdrop on Zee's boyfriend, Bones, who tells Zee about losing his kite on Nebbercracker's lawn when he was younger, and that Nebbercracker supposedly ate his wife. DJ finds one of the house's windows blinds (the eyelids) opening up, DJ thinking that he is being haunted, prepares to investigate the house with Chowder's help.

DJ is given the dynamite, and he and Jenny get accidentally thrown into the huge pit where a lake has been drained. Chowder managed to bring the house down into the pit where it crumbled to pieces. Thinking that they have won, they cheered until the house starts to reconstruct itself by making it a deformed monstrosity.

DJ tells Nebbercracker it is time to let Constance go, but she overhears. As Constance tries to eat Nebbercracker, Chowder fights the house off with a back hoe, causing her to fall into a pit. Although, DJ was scared to climb across the chimney, Jenny encourages him by sharing a kiss with him, giving him the confidence to do so. On the day before Halloween, 12-year-old Dustin James "D.J." Walters documents his elderly neighbor, Horace Nebbercracker, stealing a little girl's tricycle and scaring her away from his house, one of many similar incidents that have occurred. That same day, D.J.'s parents leave for a convention, placing him in the care of his teenage babysitter Elizabeth, or Zee. Later, D.J.'s friend, Charles "Chowder" Peterson, loses his basketball on Nebbercracker's lawn; D.J.

It quickly becomes clear — to a plucky boy-detective type named DJ and his two young sidekicks, and then to everybody else — that the ramshackle Victorian is possessed by a malevolent, demonic force. And since this is a movie aimed at an audience for whom the grosser bodily functions are a perpetual source of laughs, it vomits them up again. The house roars, belches, spits fire and in the end turns out to be...Kathleen Turner. While exploring the second floor, he finds Jenny trapped in an air vent, and tries to free her, to no avail. After Jenny manages to escape and fights off a huge doll of Constance, getting to the attic, DJ calls up to her from below and tries to get to her, but is caught by a canopy bed in the master bedroom after collecting a key on the bed.

Chowder paid $28 on a basketball and loses his basketball on Horace's lawn. Chowder wants DJ to recover it, but DJ told him that it doesn't exist anymore. He tries to recover it but is caught by Nebbercracker, who rages at him before apparently suffering a heart attack and being taken away in an ambulance and Chowder heads back home when Zee pulls into DJ's driveway. Later, DJ and Chowder spy on the house but Chowder refuses to believe the house is possessed. He crawls up to the house, and on his way, he finds a beer bottle and chugs it. Chowder emerges from the ground and imitates Nebbercracker on the porch, then rings the doorbell then house wakes up and is disturbed when it finds Chowder and DJ on its property.

Provoked, she attempted to chase them off as Nebbercracker tries to stop her, only to be knocked out as she stumbled and fell into the unfinished basement with her body accidentally being coated in cement, suffocating her. Nebbercracker then finished the house's construction in Constance's memory, but her vengeful spirit soon merged with it. Over the years, Nebbercracker feigned aggression to protect innocent people from her. Monster House is a 2006 American animated supernatural horror comedy film[3] directed by Gil Kenan in his directorial debut and written by Dan Harmon, Rob Schrab and Pamela Pettler. The plot revolves around a neighborhood being terrorized by a sentient haunted house during Halloween. The film features the voices of Mitchel Musso, Sam Lerner, Spencer Locke, Steve Buscemi, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kevin James, Nick Cannon, Jason Lee, Fred Willard, Jon Heder, Catherine O'Hara, and Kathleen Turner.

Zee thinks that the boys are telling stories and she goes out to find Bones. Dustin James "DJ" Walterson is the titular main protagonist of Sony Animation’s first full-length animated feature film, Monster House. He is a 12-year-old boy who is known for spying on Horace Nebbercracker and his house through a telescope. He acts, and is treated, like a younger boy and is often thought to be crazy.

DJ first appeared witnessing Mr. Nebbercracker confiscating a little girl's tricycle, much to Mrs. Walters' chagrin. Mr. and Mrs. Walters inform DJ that they will leave town for the weekend for a dentist's convention and have called Zee to take care of him in their stead. Chowder comes to hang out with him and asks if DJ is going trick or treating, but DJ says that he is not, as he thinks he has gotten too grown up, much to Chowder's shock. As DJ scored two goals in the basketball hoop, Chowder tries to make a score, but the ball bounces off the metal bar and hits Chowder in the head.

DJ tries to recover it but is caught by Nebbercracker, who rages at him before apparently suffering a heart attack and being taken away in an ambulance and Chowder heads back home. Later, DJ and Chowder spy on the house but Chowder refuses to believe the house is possesed. He crawls up to the house, and on his way he finds a beer bottle (left by the drunk Bones). Chowder emerges from the ground and imitates Nebbercracker on the porch, then rings the doorbell. The house wakes up and is disturbed when it finds Chowder and DJ on its property. That night, DJ receives phone calls from Nebbercracker's house with no-one on the other end.
